Homecoming looks at how Dorchester remembers the end of the War to End All Wars by looking at life in the town around 11th November 1918. Exhibits from many local history groups and individuals are supported by entertainment from local artists and school choirs. Featured in this programme are Manor Park First School and St Osmund’s Middle School who re-enact some of the songs from their play ‘When the Men Marched Away’ and songs sung in Birmingham at a national competition. Andy Worth talks to some of the exhibitors, such as the curator of the Keep Military Museum and the Society of Dorset Men and re-learns how to play conkers and blow football. This is a journey into Dorchester’s past brought forward to today.
