A Sunday walk across the Area North of Dorchester – all welcome

Area North Of Dorchester

Alistair Chisholm, Dorchester Town Councillor and Town Crier, called in to tell us about a walk planned for Sunday 6th October on which he will be accompanied by Tony Fincham, the Chairman of the Thomas Hardy Society, across a landscape destined to be changed forever by the building of 3½ thousand homes, known as 'The Area North of Dorchester'. The purpose of the walk, in the context of Thomas Hardy, is to further understand the impact which such development will have on the area's rural heritage. All are welcome to join them on the walk – meet at the bottom of Friary Hill, Dorchester [map], at 11 am. In this audio piece Alistair also questions local housing proposals in relation to actual needs.
