RAF Warmwell remembered on Battle of Britain Day

The 15th September 2020 was the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. A strong local connection with that battle was Warmwell (Woodsford) Airfield, a few miles east of Dorchester. Peter and Heather Foster presented a short feature about the role of RAF Warmwell during World War Two.

Many years ago the former airfield was  acquired by a quarrying company for the extraction of sand and gravel. The area has now become a luxury holiday park, Silverlake, and, in 2018, the company behind the scheme dedicated a memorial to the the airfield and the units and personnel stationed there, as pictured below.
