Multi agency call to assist person in the water

Weymouth RNLI Inshore lifeboat was launched at 5.36pm on Monday 3rd May to assist the Police and Coastguard teams with a casualty waist deep in the water below the Nothe Fort.

In attendance shortly after launching, the lifeboat crew put a crew member into the water alongside a Coastguard and assisted in getting him into a stretcher. Once in the stretcher he was carried ashore and along to a waiting ambulance at the lifeboat station.

The Inshore lifeboat was released at 6.20pm.
