Covid-19 cases dropping across the county

Public Health update on COVID-19 in Dorset. In line with the national picture, we have seen a decrease in COVID-19 cases across the county over the past week.

The Dorset Council area case rate has decreased slightly from 265 per 100k to 256 in a week. The average rate for the South West is 362 per 100k and for England it is 375. Case rates are highest amongst younger people, but we are seeing increase across all age groups.

The number of people in hospitals in Dorset with COVID-19 has increased from 17 to 27 over the past week, and very sadly, we have seen a small number of deaths related to COVID-19.
