We were contacted by Barbara Grindley from Huber Car Park Systems who are currently building the new multi-storey car park at Dorset County Hospital. Barbara told us the story of how a paramedic friend of hers, who lives near the Polish/Ukranian border, had phoned her in tears telling of the horrors he was seeing in Ukraine. This prompted Barbara to start an appeal to collect items (see below) in support of the Ukrainian refugees, utilising the company’s existing transportation infrastructure between Poland and the UK to get donations to them. Donations can be dropped off at the Dorset County Hospital Willmott Dixon Site office between 4pm and 5pm – just ask for Darren or George from HUBER car park systems who have agreed to continue accepting donations until 20th April.
WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED (PLEASE ONLY DONATE THESE): Baby food, formula milk, infant snacks, non-perishable products only (instant noodles, dried food, cans, flour, cereal bars and gluten-free items), over the counter cold remedies, allergy and hay fever tablets, first aid kits, bandages, nappies, sanitary products for adults, baby wipes, anti-bacterial wipes, TCP, washing powder/ gel for clothes, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, power-banks (preferably charged), torches, batteries, pet food, Lego, new crayons, felt-tip pens, colouring books and unused socks, unused underwear (pants, bras and nursing bras). No soft toys please.
