Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital following serious collision near Dorchester

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they are investigating a serious road traffic collision near Dorchester.

At 4.17pm on Friday 26 May 2023, police were called to the incident on the B3143, Slyer’s Lane between Piddlehinton and Dorchester.

The collision involved a dark blue Vauxhall Insignia, a white BMW 3 Series, thought to be driving in convoy, and a black Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man from the Chideock area, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

A 27-year-old Dorchester man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of road traffic offences. He has been released under investigation.

Police Constable Steve Eastwood, the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to the collision or who may have seen the vehicles travelling together to please come forward.

“Also, I would like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant footage on their dashcam.”
