Weekend Sports Report

Weymouth hosted Slough Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium and banked all 3 National League South points courtesy of 3 goals, one each from Alfie Rutherford, Brandon Goodship and Harry Parsons with no reply from their guests.

Our Man at the Match said,” What a change round in the second half, Weymouth were a different team, first half the Terras were very much second best. The two second half goals were great, Parson’s strike was a scorcher.”

Dorchester took the road to London to play Harrow Borough for a Southern Premier League fixture and recorded two goals to nil victory.

Will Fletcher and Marcus Dawes were the Magpies goal scorers.

In the Wessex League Portland United ran riot at Lymington Town scoring 6 goals with the Hampshire side offering nothing in return.

Jacob Coombes netted twice for the Blues with Connor Callow, Aidan Shepherd, and Jamie Symes all scoring a goal apiece with the hosts adding an own goal to the Portland tally.

Local Southwest Peninsular East club Bridport were away at Crediton and went down by the odd goal two to one, the Bees scorer was Kieron Daniels.

In the local rugby Southern Counties League Weymouth& Portland ran out 17 points to 10 victors at Monmouth Avenue in a hotly contested encounter against Corsham.

The Seahorses tries coming from number 8 Jordan Gray and scrum half Jacob Brunell with centre James Baker adding 2 conversions to a penalty.

Dorchester made the long trip into Wiltshire to play Royal Wootton Bassett second team and lost out by 27 points to 23 and Swanage & Wareham beat visitors Sherborne by 47 points to 22 at Bestwall.

In the Dorset & Wilts Leagues Bridport travelled to Slaghtergate to play North Dorset seconds and lost that one by 21 points to 17 and Blandford overcame the challenge of East Dorset Dockers at Larksmead beating their guests by 36 points to 12.
