Collision involving two HGVs closes A35

On Thursday 13th April National Highways advised that the A35 in both directions near Winterborne Abbas was closed following a crash involving two lorries the previous evening.

A man was been taken to hospital with serious injuries and the road had to be closed due to a large spillage of diesel fuel requiring emergency resurfacing to the damaged road. The road was not expected to be reopened until mid-afternoon on the Thursday.

Diversions were set up at the junction of the A35 and A3066 at Bridport and the Monkeys Jump Roundabout at Dorchester.

Dorset Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. More details here: Witness appeal following serious injury collision near Dorchester
