Local residents who live on a previously quiet estate in West Bay are up in arms about their lives being blighted by visitors who have been using Buttercup Way and Bramble Drive as car parks since Dorset County Council raised the parking charges in the area and have erected a sign to voice their feelings.
One resident who declined to be named or photographed said: “On weekends and bank holidays, our estate resembles a supermarket car park with vehicles coming and going all the time, and we are getting fed up with it.
“It all started when the County Council raised the car parking charges in the town. Before then we used to get some visitor parking, but now it has got out of hand.”
It should be noted that Dorset Council are reducing the charges at the nearby West Bay Road car park on a trial basis. See this article.
