All of our local senior men’s non-league football teams were successful this weekend.
Weymouth progress into the hat for the third qualifying FA Cup draw after beating Sholing away on Saturday by 4 goals to 1.
The Terras scores came from, Josh McQuoid, Charlie Rowan, Harry Jones and Tom Bearwish.
In the Southern Premier League, Dorchester’s Polish striker Olaf Koszela netted a pair for the Magpies at the Avenue Stadium, with Wayne Robinson striking a third to make the final score Dorchester 3 AFC Totton 2.
In the Wessex Premier League Portland United travelled to Laverstock and Ford and Islander’s returned to Grove Corner with another 3 points to add to their league tally following their 3 goals to 2 victory,
Striker Greg Borthwick netted a brace for the Blues with Patrick Jenkins scoring a third.
Bridport took the road west into Devon and recorded another Southwest Peninsular East victory, beating Newton Abbott Spurs by 3 goals to 1.
In the Tribute Rugby Leagues, Dorchester took the road into Wiltshire to lock horns with Royal Wootton Bassett’s second team, but it didn’t go too well for the County Town, who went down by 41 points to 14.
Swanage and Wareham were also in Wiltshire playing Melksham and returned to Bestwall Park with 34-points-to-20 result in the bag.
Weymouth and Portland hosted North Dorset’s second team at Monmouth Avenue, and the Seahorses scored their second league win this season, beating the visitors by 30 points to 8.
Lytchett Minster won at Blandford by 12 points to 8, Bridport beat visitors East Dorset Dockers by 49 points to 12 at Brewery Fields, Puddletown had a narrow 3-point victory against Swanage and Wareham second team at Bestwall with the final scoreline of Swans 19 points, Villagers 22.
On Sunday, Weymouth Football Club’s Lady’s team made the long trip to Cornwall to play Sticker. However, all of the travelling was worthwhile as the Terras returned to Dorset with 5 goals to 2 win in the bank.
Emily Screen bagged a hat-trick with a goal each from Scarlet Paul and Ellia Webb.
Dorchester ladies did one better, netting 6 at the Avenue Stadium against Longham. Harriett Browne and Zara Hunt both scored 2 goals each, with Naomi Johnson and Kayleigh Whiting adding a goal each.
Bridport Ladies visited Cheddar Ladies with Aleeshea Rowland banking a hat trick for the Bees’ there was no reply from the Somerset side, making the result Cheddar nil Bridport 3.
