Disappointment of Weldmar Hospicecare and others at NHS funding cut

Announced today, Friday 29th November 2024, is the intention of NHS Dorset to withdraw funding of £400,000 to Weldmar Hospicecare as of April 2025. In this report Weldmar’s Chief Executive, Caroline Hamblett, and the Home Team Lead, Ali Caldwell, explain how this funding shortfall will affect the hospice’s future. Also there is an interview with a Weldmar At Home patient followed by a statement from the west Dorset MP. Ed Morello, who says he is frustrated by the decision to cut funds…

With thanks to James O’Neill from Weldmar Hospicecare for providing the interviews.
