Flood Alert for the west coast of Dorset

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for: Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seatown, West Bay, Bothenhampton, Burton Freshwater, Burton Bradstock, Cogden Beach, Chesil Beach, West Fleet, East Fleet and Chiswell.

Storm Darragh will bring strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast on Saturday morning which may lead to flooding, though flooding of property is not expected.

Flooding is possible around the high tide from 8:00 AM on 07/12/2024. Areas most at risk are coastal roads and footpaths.

Waves are forecast to overtop coastal defences at Chiswell.

After the high tide tomorrow‚ the weather is more settled and no flooding is expected.

Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
