When are my bins going to be collected over Christmas? – let us tell you

As well as your collection date changing over the Christmas period, the crews might pick up your waste at a different time of day than usual. Therefore, Dorset Council asks that you put your containers out on the correct day by 6am to ensure collection.

Also note, there are no garden waste collections between Wednesday 25 December and Tuesday 7 January.

If you have extra recycling that won’t fit in your bin, you can put it in a sturdy box (not a bag) – that can be lifted by one person – and put it by the side of your recycling bin. Please put paper, card and cartons in your bin to ensure it doesn’t get wet.

You can also put out two extra sacks of black bin rubbish on your first scheduled rubbish collection after Christmas.

You can download your collection calendar for next year by following this link: Download your collection calendar for next year
