On the morning of 31st December, eager collectors risked lives and limbs in search for fossils at West Bay following recent rock falls below the Jurassic Coast cliffs, which were made famous by the TV drama Broadchurch.
Not only were they at risk from further falls, but some got very close to the waves that were driven onto the beach by gale-force winds, and there was a real possibility of being washed out into the sea.
