Weekend Sports Report

Jake McCarthy saved the Weymouth’s blushes by converting a 95th-minute penalty and winning the Terras a valuable point at the Bob Lucas Stadium against fellow National League South strugglers Enfield Town after the visitors had taken the lead 10 minutes earlier, also with a penalty to make the final score Weymouth 1 vs Enfield Town 1.

In the second half, the referee dealt 2 red cards, one to either side.

Our Man at the Match said: “Two poor teams produced a scrappy game. In the second half, Weymouth did come out with a bit more fire and forced the Enfield keeper into action, but it was a disappointing result when the Terras could have done with all 3 points”.

Dorchester left it even later going into time added on and trailing by a goal to nil against relegation-threatened Sholing. The Magpies Polish striker Olaf Koszela latched on to a cross from the right to slot the ball past the despairing dive of the Sholing keeper and into the corner of the net to snatch a point in the 101st minute of the game.

In the Wessex League, Portland United beat their guests, U.S. Portsmouth, by three goals to 1.

Josh Camp, George Stuttle and Greg Borthwick netting the Blues goals.

Greg Borthwick scored the Blues’ third goal.

Attendance is fundamental to this year’s success, and the squad size will again be reduced subsequently.

I didn’t take any sporting pictures this weekend, but I went to Portland Bill on Sunday afternoon, so I hope you like the images of the storm. Follow this link: idrismartin.wordpress.com
