Weekend Sports Report

Weymouth Football Club’s fans have been moaning on the Terras’ internet forum that the team are at the bottom of the league because they have been failing to score any goals. Well, like busses you wait for ages, then 5 turn up together, and that is just what happened at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday when the Terres scored 5 against fellow relegation strugglers Welling.

Brooklyn Genesini and Jake McCarthy both netted twice for Weymouth, with Josh McQuoid adding the fifth.

This result still leaves Weymouth on the bottom of the league table in 24th place and 11 points from relegation safety.

It couldn’t be the signal of a Weymouth resurgence and a great escape from relegation, could it?  The Terras fans will keep their fingers crossed and hope it is.

Dorchester’s match at Hanwell fell victim to the weather, and Portland United went down by 2 goals to 1 at home against visitors Fareham Town, Jamie Cleaver scoring the Blues’ only goal.

Bridport had more success at St Mary’s, beating visitors Oakhampton Argyle also by 5 goals to 1.

Riley Weedon, Ryan Gall, Joe Cox, Sol Ayunga, and George Geraghty shared the Bees’s goals one apiece.
