Dorchester teachers run Brighton Marathon

On Sunday 14th April, Thomas Hardye School maths teachers Melanie Orchard and Sally Miller took to the streets to take part in the Brighton marathon.

This was Mel’s first marathon, having only completed half marathons before.

They began their training in October, regularly running with the Dorchester RIOT group and completing long runs at the weekend in all weather conditions.

The weather conditions on the day were perfect and both successfully completed the 26.2 mile course- Mel in a time of 5hrs 50 minutes and Sally in 4hrs 21 minutes. Both ladies were raising money for the Make-A-Wish charity which provides children with critical illnesses and their families once in a life time opportunities.
