The circus is coming!

In a first for The Prince of Wales School in Dorchester, a big top circus is visiting next month!

The show, which will take place on on Thursday 13th June 2019, will feature amazing international artists including acrobats, aerialists, speciality acts, magic and the ever popular Happy’s Circus clowns and much, much more!

The Circus has been organised by The Prince of Wales School Association (POWSA) in order to raise much needed funds for The Prince of Wales School.

The circus will take place in a fully self-contained big top with state of the art sound and lighting technology.

The show is open to all – not just those with links to the school.

The colourful, all weather big top seats up to 600 people! Tickets are available from The Prince of Wales School Office (01305 257120) or online here – POWCircus. Tickets cost £10.50 each with under 2 years (on laps) free.

Headteacher, Mr. Spracklen explains, ‘Very few children get to experience going to a big top circus nowadays so it’s great that we will be giving children, as well as adults, this wonderful experience right here in the school ground! The performers are extremely talented and it’s an honour to be welcoming them to The Prince of Wales School!’

POWSA Member Mrs. Julia Nineham adds, ‘We are inviting people to join us from 4:30pm on Thursday 13th June 2019 where we will have stalls, a raffle and our world famous BBQ ahead of the big show starting at 6:00pm! The show will include a 30 minute break and will finish at 8pm. The show involves no animals.’

Speaking about the prospect of the circus visiting his school, Year 4 pupil Jamie said, ‘Everyone is really excited that a real circus is coming to our school! It’s great that children from other schools in Dorchester, Bridport, Weymouth and Portland will be able to join us for the show!”.

After initially selling tickets only to their school community, the remaining tickets available will be sold on a first come, first served basis. For further information or general enquiries, please contact – powsa@hotmail.co.uk.
