More arrests following Dorchester altercation

Detectives investigating a reported altercation in Dorchester have made two further arrests.

The incident occurred at around 1.30pm on Thursday 23 May 2019 in the alleyway between South Street and Trinity Street, near to the Natwest bank.

It was reported that a group of two men were attacked by another group of three young men. One of the victims sustained injuries to his face and a second victim reportedly sustained an injury to his head, but did not seek medical treatment.

Following enquiries, a 24-year-old man from the Blandford area was arrested on suspicion of affray and was released under investigation.

A 27-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has now been arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon and a 21-year-old Dorchester man has been arrested on suspicion of affray. They have both also been released under investigation.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
