Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an attempted burglary at a mobile phone repair shop in Dorchester.
At approximately 4.30pm on Tuesday 23 July 2019 a staff member was serving a customer in Fix-It on South Street when they heard a noise coming from the stairs at the back of the shop.
The staff member went to see what the noise was and saw a man coming down the stairs, which are not for public access. When challenged, the man said he had used a cut-through to enter the store and wanted to purchase something.
It is not believed the man took anything from the shop.
Police Inspector Neil Wood, of Dorchester police, said: “I am making a number of enquiries into this incident and have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the man to please get in touch.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Trinity Street area at the back of the shop at the relevant time.”
