The Prince of Wales School in Dorchester ran an inspiring launch to the 2019 Rugby World Cup as staff worked with Dorchester Rugby Club to surprise their pupils on Friday 20th September 2019. Year Four Pupil, Phillipa explains, ‘We came to school like normal to find all our teachers out the front dressed as rugby players. It was amazing! There was a scrum, a line out and even some tackle pads. We all got to have a go. Later in the day we learnt about the New Zealand haka as a whole school!’.
Headteacher at The Prince of Wales School, Mr Gary Spracklen explains, ‘As a school we love to bring learning to life for our young people! The Rugby World Cup has provided us with a fantastic opportunity to celebrate customs and cultures from all over the world!’.
Year Two pupil Charlotte adds, ‘It was very exciting to come to school and find such a transformation. There was a giant England flag on the roof and music (Swing Low Sweet Chariot) was playing! I think we will all remember this day for a very long time!’.
