Wyke Regis Welcomes new Rector

On 25th September 2019 at 7pm at All Saints Church Wyke Regis, the Bishop of Salisbury the Right Rev Nicholas Holtam will institute, induct and Install the Rev Brother Alasdair Kay (Ally) as the 56th Rector of Wyke Regis (since records began with Nicholas Lungspe in 1263), and the 2nd Rector of the combined parish of Wyke Regis All Saints with St Edmund.

Ally comes to Wyke Regis (with his wife Nicky) having previously served as the priest in charge at St Francis, Mackworth, Derby. In fact it is a return to Wyke Regis as he spent parts of his childhood in the area as his father was in the Navy.

The service on the 25th September is a very important occasion not only for the church members but for the wider community, where All Saints Church has been a centre of the community for the last 564 years and St Edmunds Church Lanehouse has served its local community for over 60 years.

The parish would like to welcome church members, friends old and new and the wider community to the service and the reception afterwards in a marquee on the church lawn. It is expected it will be a very busy service and arrangements have been made for parking to be available at All Saints School (by kind permission of the headteacher Mr Cornish), this can be accessed by the entrance on Portland Road/Foords Corner.
