Flood Warnings Issued

A Flood Warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for Upper Frome from Maiden Newton to Dorchester and the Lower Frome from Dorchester to East Stoke.

Flooding is expected for: Areas in Higher Frome Vauchurch, Frome Vauchurch, Cruxton, Notton, Frampton, Grimstone, Muckleford, Stratton, Bradford Peverell, Wrackleford, Charminster, Frome Whitfield, Wolfeton, Lower Burton and Cokers Frome.

Also areas in Dorchester, West Stafford, Bockhampton, Lewell, Tincleton, Pallington, Waddock, Moreton, Wool and East Stoke.

River levels have risen at the Stinsford river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible. The Environment Agency believe there is a possibility of flooding for areas in Higher Frome Vauchurch, Frome Vauchurch, Cruxton, Notton, Frampton, Grimstone, Muckleford, Stratton, Bradford Peverell, Wrackleford, Charminster, Frome Whitfield, Wolfeton, Lower Burton and Cokers Frome. Also Dorchester, West Stafford, Bockhampton, Lewell, Tincleton, Pallington, Waddock, Moreton, Wool and East Stoke.

They expect river levels to remain high on 13/12/19. The agency are closely monitoring the situation and their incident response staff are checking defences.
