Care and Support Good Practice Awards

Dorset Council is setting up a quarterly ‘Good Practice Award’ to celebrate the hard work of care and support professionals in the area and to highlight the opportunities of working in the sector.

If you know of a care or support worker that goes that extra mile, we want to hear their story! We would like nominations from people receiving care and support, their families and friends, colleagues, and employers.

For more and to nominate: www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/care-and-support-for-adults/good-practice-a ward.aspx

Mathew Kendall, Executive Director for Adult Social Care at Dorset Council said:

“Dorset Council provides support and care to over 4,000 vulnerable residents across the county. To do this successfully and safely, we rely totally upon the dedication of care and support workers. The work can carry challenges, such as supporting someone at the end of their life, and the role often goes without the recognition it deserves”.

There is also a national campaign called ‘When you care, Every Day Makes a Difference’ which aims to attract people with the right values and skills to come and work in the care and support profession. Further details can be found at www.everydayisdifferent.co.uk .

Winners will be invited to attend an event, along with their managers, to receive their award from a Dorset Council representative. Alternatively, awards can be posted directly to the provider for distribution.

Please help us to celebrate the fantastic work that goes on in Dorset, and to highlight the dedication and care that is given by care and support workers, by encouraging as many people as possible to nominate someone.
