Witness appeal following road traffic collision in Weymouth

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police was called at 10.54am on Wednesday 5 February 2020 to a report of a collision involving a white Volvo S40 and a bicycle on Shrubbery Lane near to Foords Corner.

Officers attended the scene, along with the ambulance service.

The cyclist – a man aged in his 70s and from Portland – sustained an injury to his neck and was taken to hospital for treatment. The injury is not described as serious.

The driver of the Volvo was uninjured.

Police Constable Tim Gooding, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I am also really keen to hear from any motorists who were in the area at the time and may have relevant dashcam footage to assist my investigation.”
