The Volunteer Centre Dorset are appealing for more volunteers to come forward and be part of the Community Credit Scheme, a project set up and managed by them at the Volunteer Centre Dorset based in Dorchester. They have just celebrated their sixth, successful year and are seeking new volunteers throughout Dorset for various roles which include:
- Mentoring – helping others to become more comfortable and confident in their volunteering roles, ie office based or environmental
- Befriending – supporting individuals to understand and exchange the credits they have earned within this scheme – ‘ a cup of coffee and a friendly ear’
- Ambassador – promoting the VCD and networking
- Marketing – creating posters and media coverage
- Organising – setting up events or administration
Volunteering can be anywhere throughout Dorset and on days/times to suit the individual. Expenses will be reimbursed and full supervision provided.
