The previous flood alert as below is no longer in force.
Flooding is possible for: Weymouth Harbour and the tidal stretch of the River Wey.
Levels in Weymouth Harbour will be high as a result of high spring tides. Forecast high water is 08:00 on Wednesday, 11/03/20 with a level of 1.90 mAOD at Weymouth tidal guage and a Force 5, West South West wind. mAOD is height above average sea level. For more detail refer to local tide tables. Low pressure will cause sea levels to be higher than forecast in tide tables.
Flooding to roads is possible at these times, however conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. Areas most at risk are Weymouth Harbour and the tidal stretch of the River Wey. The road by Town Bridge could be affected.
Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads that may be flooded and refer to local authority website for local road closures and be careful along beaches, promenades and harbour footpaths and roads.
