Coronavirus and education settings

Dorset’s Family Information Service has issued the following advice:

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister last night that all schools in the UK are to shut from Friday 20 March until further notice as a response to the coronavirus pandemic, we’re working hard to identify what this means for us in Dorset. You can read our information and advice for families and schools about coronvirus, which will be kept up to date with any changes.

Coronavirus information for families and schools

If you have a question about coronavirus and your child’s (or children’s) education setting, the Department for Education has a dedicated helpline. Whether it’s about childcare, school, college or university, parents and students can call 0800 046 8687.

The helpline is open from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. You can also email questions to DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk.
