New café approved for Dorchester.

A new café has been approved for Dorchester by Dorset Council planners.

The former Animal and Intersport shop units in Tudor Arcade have had change of use approved by Dorset Council from a shop to café.

The planning application stated that opening times will be within 0700-1900 Monday to Saturday and 1000-1600 Sunday and Bank holidays. It also confirmed that 2 full time and 4 part time jobs will be created.

The application continued: “It will be operated as a coffee shop and cafe. Coffees will be made using a coffee machine. Food will be prepared on site such as toasties and jacket potatoes using panini grills and a jacket potato oven. Chips will be fried in a small double deep fat fryer. A griddle will be used for cooking eggs and bacon and similar produce. Salad will be prepared in a preparation area. Microwaves and ovens will be used for pasties, pastries and other baked goods. Extraction will be used where appropriate as will necessary refrigeration and heated cabinets”.

Full details of the application can be seen here: planning application
