New road markings in Dorchester thanking the NHS

There are new road markings on Williams Avenue in Dorchester outside Dorset County Hospital following an initiative by Dorset Council.

To show support for NHS staff, care workers, teachers, delivery drivers, supermarket workers, warehouse warriors & posties. The road now proudly displays “Thank You NHS” with a multicoloured heart underneath.

Dr Ian Mew took to Twitter to say “ This wasn’t here when I came to work on critical care last night! Wow! I can’t tell you how much it means to our staff @DCHFT to have he support of the community behind them. Thanks @DorsetCouncilUK & thanks to the public for staying at home! By doing so our NHS can cope”.

Dorset Council’s tweet ended with ”We’re marking our thanks on roads across Dorset to show our support”.
