A number of residents in Dorchester have received a Letter from Wessex Water about the recommencement of sewer improvement works.
Works were suspended in March as a consequence of COVID-19.
In the letter from Bruce McAuslane: “I can confirm that we intend to recommence at the Great Field on Monday 8 June. The decision has been based on monitoring of government guidelines with regard to the re-start of construction activities, plus the development of robust working methods taking into account all current guidance and advice”
The works are anticipated to take approximately 15 weeks to complete, with the majority being undertaken within the timber-hoarded compound.
There will be elements of work in St John Way, which is currently programmed to start on 17th August and will take approximately 4 weeks. Access will be maintained but traffic control will be in place during this time.
Wessex Water have said that residents need not do anything during this time and that sewerage and supplies remain unaffected.
