Moreton Ford targeted by reckless drivers

Dorset Police have been following up on reports of antisocial driving at Moreton Ford.

It appears that drivers have been entering the ford and doing ‘water donuts’ at high speeds. This appears to be occurring at night.

The picture shows some of the marks left on the river bed.

This ford is part of the River Frome SSSI and is an unclassified road. Not only does this antisocial driving unnecessarily disrupt the river bed but the high revving is a nuisance to residents.

The rest of the river system can not be accessed and is not part of the unclassified road. Measures are in place to stop unauthorised entry to the rest of the river.

The Rural crime team of Dorset Police will continue to pay this area attention and take positive action against any driver caught driving in this manner.

Dorset Police are encouraging anyone to report any issues should you witness them.
