Dorchester Lions present cheque to ‘Keep David on Wheels’

We are delighted to announce that, as a direct result of the Keep 106 Trike Appeal announced a couple of weeks ago, Dorchester & District Lions are pleased and proud to have handed over a cheque for £1500 to Gary Spracklen , headteacher at Prince of Wales School, Dorchester, yesterday (Thursday 16 July)

This covered the total cost of the ‘Trike for David’ – made up of a cheque for £500 from the Dorchester Lions and an anonymous donor who gave the remaining £1000 – and wanted the Lions to act on their behalf. Not only will the trike be used for ‘David’ when he returns to school – but can also be adapted for use by other students who may need assistance after he has outgrown it – a win win situation.

David lives in the Castle Park area of Dorchester and has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) which is a severe type of muscular dystrophy.
