World Exclusive – Dorset Handmade towel designed for wheelchair users

Dorset is now home of MOXSE, the world’s first ever handmade adapted hooded towel.
They have developed two hooded towels that are both made entirely out of organic cotton, down to the threads and labels. MOXSE was started by Rosie and Isla during lockdown, to provide sustainable adventure gear that makes it easier for more people to get into adventure sports. Inclusivity is at the heart of MOXSE.

The WAVES® towel is an adapted hooded towel designed specifically for wheelchair users. The creators have made sure that this design creates ease of use for the customer. One tester said “I went surfing today and used it! It was so easy to put on and I felt so comfortable that I drove home in it. It’s so easy to chuck on after a shower, or first thing in the morning, or after a surf, or any time!” Some of the features are as follows;
● A kangaroo pouch pocket on the chest so that your belongings have a safe place.
● A shorter back to make it easier to put on and tuck in.
● Tailored around the hips and legs so it can be tucked around the legs and not get caught on the wheels.
● A wide neck so that it doesn’t press on your neck when you are seated.

Another tester has said, “When I was first injured I was frustrated at not being able to use normal towels properly so actually bought something similar but it wasn’t designed specifically for wheelchair users. I haven’t come across a towel specifically designed for us (wheelchair users) so this is a game changer.”

The MOUNTAINS towel was designed for all and has a wide neck and large hood to accommodate all head size and hair volumes, the dimensions of the towel are made for ‘one size fits all’, although we can adapt the dimensions of your towel if needed as they are made to order to limit our waste. A customer said, “It’s so soft and comfy, I feel like I’m in a bed!” “These towels are the softest and comfiest, it’s the most content I’ve ever been sitting around in a towel!” Evie Clemance, customer.

MOXSE is an adventure brand striving to be sustainable, inclusive and ethical.
