A digital project to help schools quickly alert the council when children are missing out on full time education has been shortlisted for two national awards.
The ‘Supporting children and young people to access education’ project is in the running for the Digital Leaders 100 Awards in the Digital Public Service Innovation of the Year category. It is also shortlisted for the Cabinet Office Smarter Working Awards in the Technology category under ‘Small Scale Project’.
Digitalising the reporting process for schools has meant that the council can now identify families in need of support quicker.
Cllr Andrew Parry, Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Early Help, Dorset Council told KeeP 106: “It’s great to see recognition at a national level for this digital project which is helping our vulnerable children. Colleagues from across the organisation have been working together on this, so congratulations to everyone involved.”
