Public Health Dorset says Stay At Home

We are still seeing a large increase in COVID-19 cases and hospital admission across Dorset.

You must stay at home. Don’t take risks. 1 in 3 people don’t have any symptoms, you could pass on the virus without knowing. Protect the vulnerable, protect the NHS and stay at home.

A reminder of the national lockdown rules.

You will be contacted about your COVID-19 vaccine

The health and care system in Dorset has been working extremely hard to deliver the COVID-19 vaccination programme to local people.

We are delivering the vaccine in line with the national guidance which means those people who are most at risk will be invited first.

The NHS will get in touch when it’s your turn to be vaccinated, please don’t contact us or the NHS to seek a vaccine.

Beware of vaccine scams.

There are a number of scams circulating relating to the vaccine. Please read and share this information with friends and relatives in priority groups who may be contacted about their vaccine soon.

The vaccine is free of charge

  • The NHS will never ask you for your bank account or card details
  • The NHS will never ask you for your PIN or banking password
  • The NHS will never arrive unannounced to your home to administer the vaccine
  • The NHS will never ask you to prove your identity by sending copies of personal documents such as your passport, driving licence, bills or pay slips

Here’s what you should do if you believe you’ve received a scam communication:

  • If you receive a call you believe to be fraudulent, hang up
  • If you are suspicious about an email you have received, forward it to report@phishing.gov.uk
  • Suspicious text messages should be forwarded to the number 7726, which is free of charge
  • If you believe you are the victim of a fraud, please report this to Action Fraud as soon as possible by calling 0300 123 2040 or visiting www.actionfraud.police.uk

Get tested for COVID-19 if you need to

You can leave home to get a COVID-19 test.

If you develop symptoms of COVID-19: a high temperature, a new continuous cough, a change of loss of sense of taste or smell, you must self-isolate and book a test.

Either book a test on the national portal or call 119.

When booking a COVID-19 test you will get a choice of sites, depending where they are located that day and their capacity. Sites are at:

  • Bridport
  • Dorchester
  • Swannery Car Park, Weymouth
  • Portland
  • Purbeck Park
  • Sturminster Newton
  • Hawkwood Road, Boscombe, Bournemouth
  • Wallisdown, Bournemouth
  • Lansdowne, Bournemouth
  • Creekmoor, Poole
  • Dolphin Swimming Pool Car Park, Poole
