Electric vehicle charging points to be installed at the Butter Market

Two EV fast charging points will be installed next week in the Buttermarket, to be available for use from early February.

The Duchy of Cornwall is pleased to advise the provision of additional public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points. There has been a facility at Poundbury Garden Centre for some time; however the need for further capacity has grown significantly in the last year.

The two 50kW rapid chargers (also capable of up to 22kW AC charge), will be installed in the Buttermarket during the last week of January. They are programmed to go live from early February.

The operators will be Osprey, recently voted as in the top three EV charging providers. Any EV can be charged, including Teslas, with four bays designated for the use. No connection fee or membership is required and payment will be by debit/credit card or use of the Osprey App.

The drive to reduce reliance on fossil fuels accords with the sustainability ethos of Poundbury. Further sites will be provided as demand grows.
