More suspected attempted thefts of catalytic converters

There have been more suspected attempted thefts of catalytic converters in villages on the outskirts of Dorchester.

Reports on social media claim suspicious activity was noted in Bere Regis, Puddletown and Winterborne Stickland involving a blue Volvo car.

One worried resident said: “Two villages [Tolpuddle and Bere Regis] have seen the Volvo which seems to be occupied the same people. Definitely worth checking cars this morning.”

Dorset Police advise taking these steps to protect your vehicle:

Park the rear of your vehicle close to fences, walls or a kerb or keep your vehicle in a garage. Alternatively, aim to park in a well-lit and well-populated area.

If you’ve been a victim, please report this via the Dorset Police website or by calling 101. Please always call 999 if a crime is in progress or there is danger to life.
