On a bright and quite fresh day, some towns and cities across the UK honoured the passing of HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh with a 41 gun salute, while Dorchester along with churches across the country paid their respects with the sounding of a respectfully muffled bell 99 times, one strike for each year of his long life. In this recording, the Corn Exchange clock bell strikes noon followed by Alastair Simpson sounding the bell of St Peter’s Church.
