£££ donated to DCH by a patient’s family

This morning (Thursday 3rd June) a patient at Dorset County Hospital was able to present a cheque, to Senior Sister Claire Thompson at the Renal Department, for £1089!

Simon Marfell who is undergoing treatment said: “The money was raised by my two amazing daughters as they each managed to do 3,000 squats during the month of April. They felt the need to get some Covid lockdown exercise, lose a few lockdown and post baby pounds and ultimately demonstrate their appreciation to the Dorchester Hospital Renal Dept for looking after their dad.”

Simon has explained that he needs this treatment 3 times a week and continues to say: “The staff here must be angles to put up with me and my sense of humour. I am truly blessed by the staff, my amazing daughters and the generosity of my friends. Your donations, well wishes, love and support as well as quirky messages and offers of kidneys, really keep me going and get me through the tough times.

“SO a huge huge thank you to you all, the Best Renal Dept and staff, the best two daughters Cally Fornia & Shaunna Marfell and the most generous, amazing friends a sad, slightly balding but very attractive middle aged man could have. I love you all.”
