Dorchester Choral Society is Back!

At last Dorchester Choral Society is able to sing together and perform as a full choir.

The choir is putting on a celebratory, free concert, “Music for a Summer Evening” on Saturday 26th June 2021 at 7.00pm outdoors in Borough Gardens, Dorchester. Choir conductor, Colin Howard has put together a programme of short, popular choral pieces which are sure to be audience favourites. The choir will be accompanied by local professional musicians who will – most appropriately – also perform Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik: a Little Night Music.

Choir Chair Jane Howard wants to extend an invitation to local people to come and listen. She says, “The choir stayed active during lockdowns by producing the highly acclaimed “Dorchester at Christmas 2020” DVD and rehearsing weekly, for a whole year, via Zoom. But the latest rules have allowed us to rehearse and perform together outdoors. It has been a real treat to have been making music together again recently and we want others to be able to share in our experience. Please come along, bring your rugs and picnics, spread out safely in the beautiful gardens and enjoy some wonderful music with us.”

The full programme and details of bad weather plans are on the choir’s website: www.DorchesterChoralSociety.org
