The Golden Horizon, the largest square rigged sailing vessel in the world, has just headed to Weymouth Bay.
Arriving at Portland, the near-replica of a 1913 vessel is a cruise ship capable of carrying 272 passengers. She has 140 cabins with breath-taking views according to the ship’s website.
Its back to basics in terms of propulsion using its sails for around 70% of its time underway.
Her 8,770 Gross Tonnage and 5 masts makes her the largest sailing ship ever launched.
She passed Portland Bill on her way into the Bay.
Originally named Flying Clipper, the luxury vessel was designed by a Polish naval architect and built in Split, Croatia.
