Get the Jab done

Pharmacies across Dorset offering the life-saving COVID-19 vaccine are reminding people over 40 who have not yet it to get the jab done.

There are free jab slots over the coming days of the life-saving vaccine at local pharmacies.

There’s still time to get a first dose. And people aged 40 and over are also now able to book in their second jab earlier – from eight weeks after their first dose.

But the available Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine appointments for the over 40s could fill up quickly – so hurry and book now.

There are currently five pharmacies across the county with vaccination slots available for the over 40s in the coming days.

  • Castle Lane Pharmacy, Bournemouth
  • The Grove Pharmacy, Christchurch
  • Wallisdown Pharmacy, Poole
  • Bryant Pharmacy, Poole
  • Day Lewis, Chickerell/Wessex Pharmacies, Weymouth

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective – they give you the best protection against COVID-19.

People are also being reminded to keep to their appointment if they have booked it to ensure that vaccine slots aren’t wasted.

Book your slot now via the National Booking System www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19

Remember that existing appointments for second doses can be re-arranged to an earlier date depending on availability. Do be patient and keep trying when booking a slot – there are available slots.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in December 2020 nearly one million vaccine doses have been delivered in Dorset, with the vast majority of people aged over 40 (around 95%) receiving at least one dose up to 20 June 2021.
