Dorchester’s Brewery Square is welcoming an array of free entertainment for its 13th birthday event this summer, as it hosts a Punch & Judy show and live music on Saturday 14th August.
The Square will embrace a true seaside experience as it’s kitted out with vibrant deckchairs, with families invited to enjoy the classic slapstick humour of the much-loved Punch & Judy show at 12pm, followed by a second performance at 2pm. Live music will kick off at 6:30pm, with special performances from local harpist Rosie Gill, Dorchester Ballet Club and Dorset-based chamber ensemble The String Quartet.
Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, commented: “We’re celebrating local talent at its finest for our birthday event this year, hosting a range of entertainment for all ages. We’re looking forward to bringing even more summer fun to Brewery Square with the performances, and giving shoppers an even more memorable experience when they come to visit.”
Brewery Square’s chosen charity for 2021, Diverse Abilities, will also host a stand at the event to encourage donations from visitors.
Claire Cooper, fundraising officer at Diverse Abilities, said: “We’re really thrilled to be able to join Brewery Square at their summer events this year. We really value the partnership we have with them and want to thank the team, the retailers, and the residents for all their support over the difficult time we’ve had in the past 18 months.”
