Public Health update on COVID-19 in Dorset

Public Health Dorset reports that COVID-19 case rates remain high across Dorset.

Dorset Council’s case rate has continued to increase and is similar to the average rate for England, whilst a small decrease has been seen in the case rate for BCP Council since last week, but it remains significantly above the averages for the South West and England. The number of people in hospital in Dorset with COVID-19 is lower than last week, although Public Health Dorset do see day-to-day fluctuations due to admissions and discharges, so will continue to monitor the overall trend closely. Sadly, there are a small number of weekly deaths due to COVID-19, although deaths remain at much lower levels than in previous waves of the pandemic.
