The family of a man who died in a fatal road traffic collision in Weymouth have paid tribute to their loved one.
Dorset Police received a report at around 4.15pm on Saturday 4 September 2021 of a collision at the Veasta roundabout on the A354 Dorchester Road involving two motorcycles.
The rider of a blue Yamaha, named by his family as 59-year-old Ray Robley from Seaton in Devon, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
Very sadly, he died in hospital on the evening of Tuesday 7 September 2021.
The second vehicle was a black Honda motorcycle being ridden by a man aged in his 40s and from Honiton. He was uninjured.
Ray’s family has issued the following tribute: “We cannot even begin to describe the enormity of the loss we are feeling now.
“Ray was a wonderful husband of 30 years and a devoted, loving, proud father to his children.
“Ray was a fun, caring, selfless man who lived life to the fullest. Motorbikes were his passion from a young age, if he wasn’t with his family or friends, you could guarantee he’d either be on his bike or in the shed tinkering with the bike!
“But it is not just his family who will be reeling from this loss; Ray will be sorely missed among the local community, his close friends and of course his bike club.
“You will always be in our hearts and minds, we love you very much.”
Sergeant Jay Griffin, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Ray’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.
“We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of this collision and I would again ask any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please come forward.”
