Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after a teenage boy was bitten by a dog in Weymouth.
At around 8.30am on Monday 31 January 2022 the victim – a teenage boy – was walking through a tunnel at the end of Carisbrooke and when he reached the grass area, he saw a man walking a black and white Springer-type dog that was off of the lead.
The dog bit the victim on his thumb on his right hand, causing him to draw blood. He attended hospital for treatment.
The male dog owner is described as white, aged in his late 60s, approximately five feet eight inches tall, of slim build with a big stomach and bald on top with receding hair and a white or grey scruffy beard. He was wearing a blue hooded coat that was orange on the inside.
Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “It is reported that the owner picked up his dog and walked away, therefore, the victim was not able to get his details.
“I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man described to please come forward.
“I would also urge the dog owner to get in touch with Dorset Police so we can take your account of what happened.”
