UPDATED – Coast Road incident

A single motorcyclist came of their bike whilst traveling along the B3157 Coast Road on Saturday afternoon (7th May) shortly after 2pm. It’s believed no other vehicles were involved in the incident which happened between Burton Bradstock and Swyre.

A crew from South Western Ambulance Service were first on scene and requested further support from the air ambulance.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, sustained a number of injuries after coming off his Kawasaki bike. Due to the injuries being potentially life changing, the rider was airlifted to Southampton hospital by the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

The road was closed for a number of hours to allow the police more time to investigate the circumstances of the accident.

The emergency services wish to thank members of the public who were on the scene assisting the rider prior to the ambulance and police arriving.
