Police received a call at 9.14am on Tuesday 16 August 2022 that a black Nissan had collided with a wall in Celtic Crescent.

Officers from Dorchester and the traffic unit attended along with paramedics from the ambulance service.

The driver, a 58-year-old man from Weymouth, was taken by ambulance to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The road was closed while officers investigated and it was re-opened at 11.15am.

Police would like to thank members of the public who assisted at the scene and provided first aid to the driver until the ambulance arrived.

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this incident.

“I would ask anyone who saw the collision or has any dashcam footage in Celtic Crescent at the relevant time to please contact us.”
